Spod Braid is also very hard wearing, which is essential given how often it will be cast, and has good knot strength, but it does need to be used with a 30lb Arma-Kord shockleader to prevent crack-offs on the cast – keeping it damp whilst in use will also help to prevent frap-ups around your rod rings. It is a hi-viz fluoro green colour, which not only makes sure that you can easily see where the line is when winding in, but also helps to scare birdlife (including seagulls) away from your swim as the braid travels through the air – especially useful when spodding our floaters.

Each spool contains 300m of Spod Braid, so unless you are spodding at long range, you could even fill two reels from it, as long as you use backing on your spools.
